1. Structure

- Head: A hinged ring-shaped hook with a spring-loaded safety latch; once hooked onto the trailer’s tow ring, the latch automatically locks to prevent disengagement while driving; two large bolts secure the hook body.

- Long Shank: Inserts into the 2-inch square tow socket at the rear of the vehicle; the hole in the shank is used to secure the pin.

- The surface features a black powder-coated finish that is rust-resistant and wear-resistant; the material is typically 45# forged steel, which offers high strength.

2. Operating Principle

Open the safety latch, insert the trailer’s ring-shaped tow eye into the hook opening, and release the latch—it will automatically lock into place. To disconnect, simply manually disengage the latch.

3. Applications

Off-road rescue, agricultural trailers, construction trailers, and heavy-duty towing. This design originated from military trailer couplings and offers strong impact resistance, making it suitable for rough terrain.

4. Common Specification Examples

Maximum towing capacity of approximately 20,000 pounds (about 9 metric tons), compatible with 2.5–3-inch trailer tow rings.
